RSPO = Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil

The Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil was established in 2004 to promote the production and use of sustainable palm oil.
Producers of palm oil are certified by accredited certification bodies through verification of the production process in accordance to the strict RSPO principles and criteria for sustainable palm oil production.

Certified sustainable palm oil is palm oil that has been certified according to specific social and environmental criteria. By taking these criteria into account, we can help reduce the negative impact of palm oil cultivation on the environment and communities.

  • No deforestation (e.g. protection of endangered species or fragile ecosystems).
  • No conversion of rainforest or other areas with high conservation value = improving sustainability
  • Reduced use of pesticides and slash-and-burn agriculture
  • Fair treatment of workers in accordance with local and international labor standards.

RSPO-Segregated

RSPO-segregated palm oil means that sustainable palm oil from different certified sources is kept separate from conventional palm oil throughout the supply chain. RSPO-segregated end products are consumer products in which all of the palm oil in the product comes from certified sources. This means that the different certified supply bases for the palm oil used can be traced.

EDNA supports the responsible production and trade of sustainably grown palm oil. We are a member of the RSPO and can trade products with sustainable palm oil in accordance to Segregated (SG). As part of our sustainability work, our goal is to consistently drive the use of Segregated (SG) certified palm oil in our production.

For our customers, products made with certified palm oil are marked with "SG" in the article name.
